Scholastic Assessments
Assessments I Offer:
- Scholastic Assessments: Cognitive (IQ), academic (literacy & numeracy), and emotional assessments to understand your child’s strengths and challenges.
- Identifying Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD): Including dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia.
- ADHD Assessments: Evaluating attention, behaviour, and concentration to guide support and intervention.
Assessing your child
If your child is struggling at school — with reading, writing, maths, attention, or keeping up — a scholastic assessment can provide clarity and direction. Using standardised tools, I offer comprehensive assessments to identify learning difficulties and guide the best support for your child.
Assessments can also assist with applying for examination accommodations through the Department of Education and Independent Examinations Board (IEB).
When to Consider an Assessment?
- Difficulty with reading, writing, or maths
- Poor concentration or easily distracted
- Struggles with organisation or completing tasks
- Frustration, low confidence, or school avoidance
How it Works
The process begins with a parent consultation to understand your child’s background and needs.
Assessments are done over one or more sessions in a supportive environment. You will receive a detailed report outlining:
Key findings
Strengths and areas of difficulty
Practical recommendations for home and school
Guidance on accommodations where needed
A feedback session is included to discuss results and next steps.
